Holiday Cookie Swap
Thursday, 19 December, 2024 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Adults only 18 and up Jazz up your holidays this year by joining Chef Cathie in her kitchen where you'll help create an array of favorite cookies to swap & share with several other baking buddies. Class participants will bake raspberry & almond shortbread thumbprints, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, Scandinavian almond bars, chocolate no bakes and iced sugar cookies. You're bound to get into the holiday spirit! Register early & don't forget to bring a container large enough to take home a few dozen cookies! Please Note: The class fee is per person. -

Homemade Egg Rolls

Well, that's probably not totally true, but these homemade egg rolls might just become your new BFF! Oh, the joy of creating a take-out fave in your own home! Hoppy Easter! Cookie Decorating Class
Friday, April 11th 6:00-9:00 PM Pacific time Adults 18 and over, and children 12 and over with a paid adult Hop on into The Gifted Kitchen and learn the fun art of cookie decorating with royal icing! This is a beginner class with no experience necessary. This class will have an Easter/spring theme with five different cookie designs: three cookies that spell out the word HOP (the H will be a carrot, the O a sweet chick and the P a cute bunny), an Easter egg and a spring flower. The class is taught by Lisa Yakovich, a local cookier with 15 years of experience. She will answer any questions you have and offer tips and tricks along the way. You will learn the basics of decorating with royal icing, including icing consistencies, piping and flooding and the wet on wet technique. Everything you need will be provided: five large sugar cookies (lots of extras available), royal icing, practice sheets, decorations/sprinkles, tools, examples to see and taste, printed recipes and cute white bakery boxes to take your yummy creations home in. Grab a friend and join us for a fun Friday night out with time to learn a new skill, visit and have fun! It’s Pizza Time
Friday August 19th, 6 pm to 8:30 pm Adults 18 and up. Bored with take out or pizza parlor fare? Join me, food enthusiast Betty Hayes, as we start with an easy dough recipe, create three different sauces, and add your own unique toppings. I'll also discuss three ways in which to cook your delectable creations before we will sit down, family-style, and enjoy the fruit of our labor. Bring your own favorite pizza-worthy beverage. Knife Skills: Tips, Tricks, and Proper Care!
Friday, April 8, 2022 6:00-9:00 pm. Ages 18+ Ever wonder why that onion makes you cry so much? Hint: your knife is probably dull. In this class we will teach you the proper uses for all those knives in your block. You will learn how to sharpen at home, proper maintenance of your edges, and some awesome skills such as: the super simple method to dice onions, the easy way to hull out an avocado, the clean way to slice a bell pepper, and much more. The goal of this class is to make your daily cooking lives easier and to extend the life span of your equipment – good knives are an investment worth caring for. We’ll also be making a couple delicious recipes that are great for game day snacks, potlucks, or dinner sides! includes a whetstone (a $25 value) that you get to take home! In honor of summer time, join Chef Cathie for this flavorful cooking class using these favorite citrus fruits. You'll make several delicious & tangy recipes and learn why these luscious gems are called the secret ingredient of the sunny season. You'll create; chipotle lime shrimp tacos with chipotle lime sauce, teriyaki salmon bowls with lemon tahini sauce, lemon pistachio pasta, lemon and herb ricotta flatbread and key lime pie for dessert.
